Transporting Flagg Coal Company #75 to Owosso, Michigan. The engine was leased to the Steam Railroading Institute where it enabled the expansion of their educational programs.

One of the first jobs for #75 after it arrived in Owosso was to deliver Santa to downtown festivities at Thanksgiving, 2002.

 

 

 

 

 

A crew from the PBS program "Tracks Ahead" were filming activities with Flagg Coal Company 75 for a segment about SRI due for broadcast in the fall of 2008.

This Michigan railfan celebrated his 75th birthday by running the engine in the SRI yards and eating a catered meal in the dining car with family and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

The Steam Railroading Institute is the home of Pere Marquette 1225. It was the real action model for the animated locomotive in the movie "Polar Express".
