We enjoy the challenge of the restoration process. Once the locomotive is running our enjoyment comes from sharing it with others. SRI volunteers have learned steam operation skills through the use of 75 on runs at the Museum. Activities such as riding behind the steam engine, talking with the cab crew, watching the maintenance and servicing, and taking pictures of the locomotive in action have greatly enhanced the experience for the visitors to the Museum. We are excited and pleased by the opportunities for visits to other museums and tourist railroads which have allowed us to share the steam locomotive experience with a much wider audience.
