Flagg Coal Co. # 75 provides short passenger rides through the yards of the Steam Railroading Institute on summer weekends.

Flagg Coal Co. #75 has made several appearances at other tourist railroads and museums. Not only do the staff and volunteers of these host organizations get to work with and enjoy a fully operational steam locomotive, they can provide a unique experience for their interested public.

Cab rides and tours have also been made available. Talking with the engineer and fireman as they work in the engine has been a highlight for many visitors.

Barney and John Gramling have worked with each organization to tailor their event to meet the unique needs of each location.

The owners Barney and John Gramling hope many more generations will have the opportunity to learn about and enjoy steam railroading through the operation of this engine.

Planning a Visit

Basic Event Price includes:

Use of Flagg Coal Co. # 75: Actual amount charged depends on the length of time for the event and use made of the engine

Owners provide engine maintenance and supervision throughout the event

Owners provide grease, oil, water treatment, and other maintenance supplies

Owners provide training and supervision for organization members who run or fire the engine

Owners provide steps and platform for viewing or entering cab of engine

Owners provide an educational display with photos, kids’ coloring page, brochures, and other information

Owners provide printed picture t-shirts, hat pins, key chains, and other #75 merchandise to host gift shop. Host will be charged only for items sold.

Host assumes responsibility for the following:

Owners make the arrangements for travel of #75 to and from the event location while hosts assume all transportation expenses

Host will pay for all coal and water used during the event
 
Event insurance

Housing for #75 crew, (Usually 1-3 rooms)

Publicity and advertising  (Owner can provide pictures and information for publicity purposes)
